March MN Foodshare
The Greater Minnesota Council of Churches (GMCC) created Minnesota FoodShare in 1982 as an initiative to combat hunger and food scarcity in the state. Each year the organization holds the Minnesota Foodshare March Campaign, the state's largest grassroots food and funding drive.
GMCC'S MN FoodShare Campaign has distributed over 18.5 million dollars through the FoodFund. Nearly 300 food shelves receive support! The campaign consists of events and drives created by the participating food banks and programs throughout Minnesota. These participants are then eligible to receive additional funding throughout the year from the money raised by Minnesota Foodshare for their FoodFund during the March Campaign. Incredible organizations like GMCC and Minnesota FoodShare are sometimes the only way smaller food bank programs can survive and continue to serve their communities. Community Pathways is very excited to be able to participate in this year's Minnesota Foodshare March Campaign starting with the Hometown Sampler at the Owatonna Little Theater.
